Castro Architect in Madeira

After more than two decades of work in Andalusia, we have opened an office in Calheta, on the west coast of Madeira, to support homeowners, investors and developers across the island.

What we do in Madeira

  • Restoration of traditional houses: bringing stone buildings and older properties back to life, preserving their character while adapting them to modern living.

  • Energy efficiency: better thermal performance, natural ventilation and solar gain, backed by specialist training in energy retrofitting and certification.

  • Houses and extensions: new builds, refurbishments and extensions designed for sloping plots and the Atlantic climate.

  • Tourist accommodation and hospitality: projects for holiday rentals (alojamento local), small hotels and restaurants, drawing on our experience with beach venues.

  • End-to-end project management: from feasibility study to site supervision, with a single point of contact throughout.

Why work with us

A track record since 1998 in the rehabilitation of listed buildings, public facilities and hospitality, recognised in national competitions, now applied to the architecture and landscape of Madeira.

Founded in 1998, our architecture studio has a well-established track record of more than two decades in architectural design, site supervision, comprehensive project management and feasibility studies. Our work is distinguished by clear, rigorous dialogue with public authorities and private clients, and ranges from residential buildings and public facilities to heritage rehabilitation and urban planning.

The quality and rigour of our work are backed by the trust of bodies such as the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Regional Ministry for Equality and Social Welfare, the Andalusian Housing and Rehabilitation Agency (EPSA), the Provincial Council of Cádiz and several city councils, and we hold certificates of full satisfaction for the completed works. Our technical expertise is further endorsed by our selection as a collaborating architect of the Architects' Mutual Insurance Society for expert appraisals and reports.
